Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving2016May you celebrate the timeless traditions of Thanksgiving surrounded by those you love most.

Welcome Rich and Shake Shack!

Bren-Mar Construction welcomes Rich Cossettini as the Superintendent for the new Shake Shack project located in historic downtown Detroit. Rich is a history buff who has a true passion for construction and over 25 years in the industry. He’ll be putting all that knowledge to good use on this project. In addition to welcoming Rich to the team, we also want to welcome Shake Shack as this will be their first restaurant in Michigan. We can’t wait for the doors to open!

The Elusive Walter Campbell

IMG_2128

We have been attempting a blog which highlights our beloved Wally for nearly a year now. But if you know Wally, it should come as no surprise to you that he has managed to escape our spotlight.

As the Bren-Mar Team continues to grow, Wally has been taking on the role of mentor in addition to his ‘day job’ as project manager. While he’s busy providing guidance to our newest project managers this mentoring often takes him all over the greater Flint/Detroit region so keep your eyes peeled and you might even catch a glimpse of him for yourself!

Since Wally has been so successful in escaping and deflecting our inquiries into his life, we can only speculate as to his hobbies and interests. Here’s what we’ve been able to gather over the last couple of years:

  • Wally has a family; his wife, Dianna, and two children; a son and daughter. We estimate both children to be in their mid twenties and know that his daughter is engaged and that he and his son hunt together.
  • Wally has a pool; he and his family sometimes host barbeques at said pool; we’ve never been invited otherwise we would be able to provide further information on this detail.
  • Wally enjoys cars and has a Mustang, we know he attended the Woodward Dream Cruise this year and suspect he may have taken his Mustang.
  • Wally and his family like to vacation along the eastern seaboard; while we can’t recall if he’s ever divulged the exact town, we do know that he’s brought back saltwater taffy to share with us at the office.
  • Wally dislikes chocolate; it’s taken us awhile to come to grips with this fact but once we realized it was one less person to share treats with we were pretty quick to overcome this somewhat odd fact.

While the details of his life outside of Bren-Mar are hard to come by, we could go on and on about his work related accolades. Rather than bore you with the industry specific details, just trust us when we say he is exceptional at his job. Wally is a much appreciated asset to our company and we look forward to learning more about him -little by little- over the future years.IMG_2130

Back to School Season

AugI’ve heard it described as “the most wonderful time of the year” by parents of school-aged children, while teachers and teens typically disagree. Back to school is a time to set goals for learning and growth over the next year while enacting a plan to ensure one’s success – a time to sharpen your pencil, so to speak.

Perhaps you too are taking stock of your planned growth for the next year. Maybe that growth includes relocation, expanding or just a fresh coat of paint. If you’ve got a plan, we can help ensure it’s success. If you’re starting with a blank slate, let us connect you with our team of skilled and friendly professionals; it’s like getting the ‘good’ teacher!

After all, a new project should be exciting, like a field trip to the cider mill but without the cramped and sweaty bus ride.

Summertime and the Living’s Easy

June 2016

It’s officially here – summer; sweet, sweet summer. The long, warm days combine with sunny disposition to create a season that can’t fully be explained but just has to be experienced.

There’s something else the summer brings -especially here in Michigan- and that’s construction. We are all very aware of the road construction projects which just happen to coincide with our otherwise cheer-filled season. Summer trips near and far can quickly come to a literal halt due to this busy time of pavement improvements. And while roadways are not in our construction portfolio, we sure are busy this summer working on projects of our own.

Fortunately, you won’t find any of our projects slowing things to a halt. Our skilled leaders are masters at planning, taking care of all the coordination and scheduling that keep projects moving forward.

Let Bren-Mar keep things rolling on your next project, handling all the hard work, so that you can enjoy that carefree experience of summertime, anytime of the year.

150 Years in the Making

Memorial Day 2016 USE

Remembering Together

First recognized in the South in 1866, Memorial Day was a simple and somber occasion with an intended purpose: to honor the dead and take care of a little housekeeping at the local cemetery.

Two years later and post-civil war, Union veterans in the North began celebrating their own holiday, Decoration Day. It was another simple occasion to decorate graves of the war dead with flowers.

To prevent confusion -and perhaps because they were still a little bitter- the South clarified that they had no intentions of sharing their holiday by renaming it Confederate Memorial Day. It took almost another 15 years until the two holidays shared the common “Memorial Day” title and a whopping 85 years more before it was made official.

This year marks a full 150 years since the first Memorial Day was recognized. And while it has certainly grown from a simple holiday, amidst the parades and celebrations, graves of our war dead still deserve to be honored and decorated.

As you celebrate this Memorial Day…remember.

A Call to Action

ReminderFingerSketch1What’s the only date that’s also a command? Stumped? It’s March fourth; or march forth. That’s about the extent of our trivia here at Bren-Mar Construction. And truth be told it’s a trivia from way back in high school. Isn’t it funny the little things that you remember?

Here at Bren-Mar, we hope one of the things you would remember about us is our ability to go above and beyond for our clients. We care and we’ll do just about anything for you. We’ve even tracked down Red Wings jersey’s to ship internationally for foreign fans north of the border. When we say our relationships are a driving force that set Bren-Mar apart we mean it.

Bren-Mar Mission Statement:

Picture2Bren-Mar Construction consistently delivers commercial and industrial projects with unsurpassed service and quality. Our refusal to accept anything less than exceptional in both our projects and our relationships is the driving force that sets Bren-Mar apart.

If you haven’t worked with us before, we encourage you to read some of our Testimonials. When you’re ready to get started -or march forth- on your project, we encourage you to reach out to us. We’d love to work with you, or work with you again!

Love Across Southeast Michigan

Spanning beyond our little hometown of Fenton, Bren-Mar Construction is busy spreading our passion for building all across southeast Michigan. From Birch Run to the north to downtown Detroit to the south, we are teaming with clients all across the region to bring their projects to life.

Lasco Ford Sales Renovation is Complete!

Here at Bren-Mar we love seeing all our hard work come together as a project reaches completion. But what we are most passionate about is our clients and the relationships we built along the way.

The completion of the Sales Building renovations at Lasco Ford in Fenton marks the end of a multi-phase, multi-year redevelopment master plan. Bren-Mar Construction has enjoyed working with the Lasco family throughout the years to reach this point. And as the saying goes, the best truly was saved for last.

During construction, Bren-Mar and Lasco worked closely to ensure both operations – renovations and vehicle sales – continued to operate seamlessly. While there were certainly challenges throughout the process, both parties were successful in their respective tasks. The Lasco Ford sales team was able to continue serving their valued customers and the Bren-Mar team of skilled craftsmen revamped the dated space into a spectacular showroom.

The Sales Building now boasts more than double the space it previously occupied. This allows Lasco Ford to have vehicles featured throughout the showroom for the first time in years. While we may be slightly biased, we think the results are stunning. But don’t take our word for it, stop by Lasco Ford in Fenton and take a look for yourself! Too far to stop in?
